Dude, take an old Vic Spartan or Recruit, reshape the little blade to a wharnie shape, and put a shaving convex edge on it. Best carving knive you'll get for the money. I'm not saying I haven't been eyeballing that Carving Jack... I guess it's like an SAK, you carry stuff you don't need that often, but when you need it, you're pretty darn happy that it's included in that handy little thing you've been lugging around.
