Texas - welcome to the forum -- posting pics of a 1911 is all good.
Posting it with pics of knives is even better!
as to stripping the BK2 -- go for it. wipe on some stripper gel, wait a bit, and scrape the black coating off - then patina.
Don't forget to post pics of the patina when it's done, though.

Until recently the only BK&T I had was the Reinhardt Kukri (sp?). Used it heavily in the early 90s.Still good to go. Then just a few weeks ago I bought a BK5. A fine, practical camp knife with a blade designed, as I understand it, by Jerry Fisk. I paid about $80.

Yesterday I found the identical knife on consignment at A.G. Russell for $195. Can anyone explain to me what accounts for such a rapid applreciation? Is this
typical of the BK line?

cocaine :)

as much as a fanboy as i am, there's no call for the Camillus version of any available KaBar variant to cost more, imho. good lord.

saw a Reinhardt sell for $290 the other day. WHO ARE YOU! wow. that was a lot of money! someone building a collection at any cost? CONFESS!

Yes, cocaine would account for it. I can see that.

And thanks for the info on the Reinhardt. I always liked it. Now I have a positive affection for it.

I do collect; from slip joints to custom bowies. I hadn't considered the BKs. I shall have to rethink that.

Welcome to bladeforums, and congrats on the new toys they look like keepers!
