Fish Knife Give Away

Pete!!...oh man...do I know what that feels like...not quite like a 22" fish just sending every motion through the hook though....that brings tears to the eyes just thinking about it!!...
...but I remember once I borrowed my dads hand line, went down to the local wharfe...and I was going to supply tea for my family...yessiree!...it had these three massive sinkers on the end of it...well me being about 6 years ...did the old lasso throwing whirl before I sent the hook line and sinker through the air...but unfortunately.. the bloody hook decided to take its path through my left index finger whilst the sinkers had been launched into mid-air being dragged by these huge lead sinkers going at...( what felt like ) a thousand miles an hour...that was bad enough...untill such time the sinkers reached their limit..and dropped... now the line was being being supported by the hook...which had went into my finger....lol..Im pretty sure I hit notes that no Tenor has ever hit :D

Not the best, but the most memorable.

I had just moved from Vegas to Washington State and my father-in-law takes me Coho fishing in the Stillaguamish River. Now I can tear up Lake Mead and some cat fish but this river thing is kind of new. So I'm going fake it to you make it. I'm full on trying to look good in front of my father-in-law. We're talking total game face here. I'm drifting a corkie and yarn through some serious rocks but managing to stay out of the wood. Wham! I land a big one. Because of the area I had decided to fish I had to work this fish about 100 yards down steam to an area where the current was manageable. My father-in-law is looking impressed. About 30 minutes later I have this sucker on the shore. We're talking right at the shore. Inches from the water. Way too close! I lean over to grab it through the gills and he flipped once right into the water and...

...I look up at my father-in-law. My father-in-law looks at me. Nothing is said.

Pics first, story later:

What do we have here (I'm "hiding" behind my friend while his wife enjoys the sun)

What was there:

A good friend takes pity on me every now and then and invites me fishing. We were out on Palmer Lake with his church group, ostensibly to catch some yellow perch. We were the last boat in and he asked if I wanted to do so bass fishing while we worked our way to where every one was to gather to jig for the perch. Of course I said, "yes!"

We finally got around to where the others were and I had a split double tail plastic something or other on my line. I had decided to cast it out, let it sink, and see what happened until everyone else started catching the perch.

Well, everyone else starting getting into the perch so I figured I better get with the program and switch rigs. I started to reel in and figured I'd snagged something as the line wasn't moving. I started whanging away with the rod and did all of my line breaking tricks to no avail. My friend offered to reposition the boat but I said no. Well, I finally decided I would just start reeling in until the rod or the line broke. My friend finally decided I had a fish on and told me to take it easy and just keep tension on the iine for a bit. Eventually the line started to move a wee bit and I started to slowly reel in. In another minute or so this 4#'er blubbed up to the surface. We released it after taking a lot of pictures. A good day was had by all.

The last september went to the Cortez sea, there where a lot of mahi mahi, I catched about 18 of them.

Still some time left. I'm changing the rules a bit since there are a few multiple posts. Everyone who posted gets their call name put in a hat and my daughter draws the winner. Hope that's cool with all. Seems fair.

Nice bass! Cute baby! I'm getting a kayak soon.

Cool knife give away. Thank you for the opportunity. My youngest son is the best bass fisherman I know. He's caught several bass that any man would be proud of.(and yes, we did keep some bass to eat cause they are tasty)

Here is me and my son Matt with a few of his big bass. He does pretty good with a spinning rod and some rubber worms.

And one with Matt's pistol packing momma. Mom caught this bass though.

Time's up. Drawing a name as soon as I can corral my daughter.

Thanks for the give away!!

Happy Birthday too!!!

Congrats to PocketEdge!!! These are neat knives. They were everywhere when I was growing up, but you hardly see a new one anymore. But then again, maybe I just haven't been in the right places.
