Fisher Space Pens

yeah, that's definitely unacceptable for a pen that is touted the way in the way that the FSP is. I've had two with no problems myself, the latest being the military model. It's performed perfectly for me although now I don't believe I'll take it flying. :D

I used the refills in other pens, and had problems with leaking and their tendency to get "gunky" and leave a blob of ink on the paper.

I don't use them any more.

I have had great luck and really like the Surefire pens - with my preference being the Surefire Pen 2. They use Schmidt refills which write very well and consistent and are built like tanks.

I realize the price difference may be too great - but look around - you can find them lower than MSRP.

The rare occasion that I have a globby space pen refill, I stick it in an envelope and send it back to Fisher. They send me a new one. Been carrying a Bullet for at least 8 years now and I've had to do that twice.

I've carried a black one clipped to my wallet for more years than I can remember and never had a problem with it. Comes in handy all the time. I probably flown with mine that way internationally over 40 times too.

I used to keep one of the bullet pens in my back pack untill it popped on a flight
over to Thailand and pretty much covered the whole inside of my pack and a nice
jacket in ink. I stopped using them after that and won't be buying any more either.

The superb space pens that can't even handle a standard flight :p

i had one leak on me too and i wasnt flying i was driving my car, i still have a blue spot on my seats.....................

imho they are neat little pens but i wouldnt want one for writing a lot, a lot of mine have been real "globby" if thats a word lol, but i suppose for writing checks and such they are ok.

I keep the bullet with me at all times in my pocket, part of my EDC.

Very nice and small, discrete and do not even know its there.

Same here. Much more comfortable for pants pocket carry than a "full size" pen. I love it as part of my EDC load-out.

Some people have complained about it not being comfortable for prolonged writing, but that's not what I carry if for. I use it when I need to sign something, or write a quick note, or similar writing tasks. Really handy for that!
