Fishing before class

yep, it was a good fish.
i'm the opposite of you, love the rivers, fish the lakes only when the rivers are all blown out (although it's still fishing, which = excellent use of time).
i'm fishing eastern washington, north idaho, and western montana, though, so people are less of a problem. i have friends from seattle that want to meet in ellensburg and fish the Yak. i've done it a couple times. and there is never a point in the entire day where you can't see multiple other drift boats fishing around you. yuck. i like people as a general rule, but not when i'm out in the woods.

Very cool bro, I got me a few trout today....

Been I while since I been on the Green River also, but we have tons of small rivers around here full of Brown Trout.
Just got a new spining reel yesterday, I love the damn thing already LOL

I had the pleasure of fly fishing the Flaming Gorge from a drift boat a few years back. Awesome time. Those were the first brown trout I had ever caught. That was a very beautiful area.

great thread. sounds like it was a good time. my only comment would be that it would be much cooler with more, bigger, pics. :)

Nice cutty man! I won our family fishing tournament last year with a 7lb 5oz rainbow at Watch lake up in the Cariboo. Pretty fun on a 6 weight flyrod.

and Awesome-0.....what kind of boat you using for quick little trips like that. When I go to little lakes close by for a few hours I just use a cheap 10.5 inflatable from costco(pretty good for 150$) and row.

Can't wait for the salmon run to start picking up end of june on the Fraser river. I banked 2 chinook over 25lbs and around 40 sockeye last year.
Just river fishing in the "combat zone" as previously mentioned, when the sockeye run its shoulder to shoulder but I don't care. After the first 2 or 3 weeks you get to recognize a few decent fishermen with etiquette and some skill and band together keeping the idiots on either side of us at a good spot.

Actually had to buy a deep freeze for our condo because of harvest last year. At 50$ a good sockeye in the stores it just made sense to stock up. Going to can last years as soon as I start landing fresh ones, still 10 sockeye and 12 pinks in the freezer. Probably make "Pinkeye", canning 60% sockey and 40% pink. Makes really good sandwiches with the pink being soft and moist (there might be a joke there on reflection) cutting down on the amount of mayo with straight sockeye.

To keep some becker content I use a becker necker when I am wearing waders, gotta keep a knife handy with no pockets and the way the sheaths are I never worry about losing it.

Tight lines guys, great thread.

Im right there with ya rowing a vintage 1968 12' sears game-fisher. Its got a ton of patches on it but she still floats
