Recommendation? Fishing/boating knife with Camping usage

The only knife I can think of that fits in your budget (except the Mora Companion) would be the Manly Patriot in CPM154.

Wow lots of good information here.

I thought one post would of been for the Strongarm. oh well.

I thought it over, talked it over, and bought the Mora Companion HD. I know its carbon but it was around 18 and if I have any issues I will be ok. It was like a coin toss between that and the stainless companion. Just got to keep a coat of oil on it.

I would love a Spyderco but I think for the price it would never leave the house. If I lost it over the side that would be a long ride home.

Thank you everyone for the great information.

When outdoors, it makes more sense to carry a fixed blade. How about a Becker BK16? Not very big, but big enough to get the job done.

congratulations on the companion HD. I like the Mora idea in stainless for the kayak, good blade for the price, won't break the bank if lost. Or the Mora Garberg. I also like the idea of a Buck 105 Pathfinder for a more robust knife. Let us know how you like the Companion.
