I tried braided line on my caster and I hated it. How are you liking it? You must because you use it. I like to use a thinner mono on mine.

I'll have to take a pic of a couple of my rod/reel setups. I have one that I carry on my pack (it's a spin caster), and I use a Pinnacle baitcaster and a Shakespeare rod.

Uhmmm.... I'm a little off the charts when it comes to fishing gear.
I have everything from ultra-light rigs to bass rigs, to inshore saltwater rigs, to surfcasting rigs, to fly fishing rigs.... you get the picture.
If I die while fishing, I'll be a happy dude, assuming I'm an old, happy dude.

Damn Guyon looks like you love fishing as much as me, you got some nice gear and I also noticed you have Hybrid Striper's in your area also (Wiper).
What do you like more that Abu Garcia or that shimano Calcutta?

I tried braided once and it backlashed every cast. Maybe I should give braided line another shot and see if I can set up the reel a little better for it.



So do you guys lake fish with that gear? I have a lot of rivers and streams around here so I don't have a bunch of lake stuff. I guess I forgot the Puget Sound, though I only fish the Sound for Pinks when they are runnin'.

If'n ya'll want to have some fun fishin' Salmons come on out here. They are runnin' thick in August. :thumbup:

My spinning gear is my back-up, my baitcasters get used everywere.
I river fish as much as I do lake.
My favorite fish is the SmallMouth Bass/Brown trout....
I also love me some Muskie but thats heavy gear, I use a Okuma Swimbait special and Shimano Curado E7 with those swimbaits, a badass swimbait is 3:16 swimbaits.

I can cast 1/16oz with this baitcaster, I upgraded the bearings to Orange seal Ceramic's and got some shimano brakes from japan for my Shimano Chronarch D7.

90% of the time, I find myself using this lure now. Its got so bad that I barely know how to twitch a purple worm the right way.

Thats a great spinner that's the same one I often use in 1/4 1/8 for trout and bass everything seems to like a brass blade and dark body.
