Fishing Knife

This knife appears to be similar in design to the fighting and defense knives used in many Arabic cultures throughout Asia. I suppose you could cut bait or filet a fish with it but I think there are better designs for that work, and this knife appears to be optimized for other activities.

A very interesting offering and very reasonably priced.

Drooling .. ! It is a beauty! If it were in my possession I guess it will never taste a single fish :D

I need to setup my computer to make loud noises and call my cell phone every time Yangdu makes a post...

I think I take your Geezard.

Howard, I've a couple knifes that duplicate the sweep of this blade, one is a boner, and the other a fish skinner. Yes folks, if you get into real fishing outside a city, there are actually fish so large you need a large blade to fillet and treat. Both my knives are doubtless more thin than the forged one offered by HI. Still, I think it would do many kitchen chores, and a bit of impromptu field surgery if called upon- like in a Hong Kong alley.

Fishing knife ! I think that could even handle the Cantina cruisers !
What a nice absolutely non-slip handle . Pull that baby out at the cleaning table and watch them stand back just to return slack jawed and drooling . Beatifully worked and one I,ll keep in mind for the future .

I've written Yangdu and told her there appears to be a lot of interest in the Gizzard knife.

Yeah guys, I'm very much with you on this knife being very neat, and probably very desirable indeed!

Not only would it being a standard item be a good idea, IMO, but maybe some other models based on the same design could become part of a series. They could all have the same blade design principle and horn handle/scabbard idea, but the others could differ only in overall size and blade wideness and such.

If this was only meant to be a test balloon, I think HI will find that it has flown very well ;)

Couldn't get the page, Howard. I'm certain you are 100% correct in linking the design to other historical blades. edit- got the page now.

When more of the fishing knives will be available I can only tell you I have requested more and shall let you know just as soon as I know. As always, I very much appreciate your enthusiasm and support of HI. Thank you.

In terms of understatements, this is somewhat similar to describing a thermonuclear exchange as a difference of opinion.

I'd be willing to prepay for one of these puppies. Don't know if it'd make it to my tackle box, but it might.
