Hi,
I do alot of fishing in the northern Canada wilderness. While fishing I always have my SOG PowerLock and Spyderco Salt. But I am really looking into the Benchmade 100SH2O. Its a small fixed blade with a steel that will never rust, much like the Spyderco Salt. It doesn't have a pointy tip which is good... you don't want to poke through your fishing waders!
In northern Canada the water can be really cold event during summer and this year I realized, after 14 hours fishing in rivers under the rain, in cold water, that you cannot rely on a folder when your hand are numb from the cold.
So my recommendations would be to get yourself a good multitool and a small corrosion resistant fixed blade (Benchmade 100SH2O, Spyderco Aqua Salt, even a Boye Boat knife if money is not a problem.)
Have fun, let us know how it turns out.
