Man y'all seem to be a bunch of trout getting guys. I haven't had much luck with a fly rod around these parts, so I choose to go with a more power approach. This is a 70+ lb spoonbill (aka Mississippi Paddlefish), just to clarify I know that they are not everywhere, so some people may not have heard of them before.
Not a fish picture, but a fishing picture that my gf took Sunday night. We drove out to check and see what the ice was looking like and so she could get some pictures for a class she is in. We had some time and I had my poles in the box of my pickup, so I decided to fish for a half hour or so. Caught a few northerns and went home.
The Steelhead are finally running pretty hard. The weather warmed up and the bite shut right off this weekend. They were jumping a lot so I know which holes they're in but can't get them to take anything. Got this 29 incher on a #3 silver Mepps. He flopped in the picture, makes him look like he's going after me...
Had a really good day at a local lake on friday! The weather was very volatile going from hail to sun to rain a few times during the afternoon. The bite was on though so it didn't matter. We decided to keep our limit for dinner this time.
sunfish caught fishing wooly buggers on a tenkara rod
11in
9 1/2in
9 1/4
Caught another 9 1/4 and a 9 in that I didn't take pictures. It is a good afternoon fishing for sunfish when the smallest fish out of 10 fish is 7 1/2 inches
I've been catching a ton of smaller northern pike lately and some nice walleye. I've only brought a couple walleye home to eat, because most of the ones I've caught are 20"+ fish. I did bring home a 19" today and made supper with it. Sorry, no pics. I'm really bad about taking them.
Nice Mewolf!
Still hoping to get my first brown...the sooner the better!
Nothing special for me this spring....lots of smallies, walleyes and pike and a couple of lakers but no trophies. Just good times and some good meals. Keep em coming guys
