I am learning to fly fish. I'm a slow learner but it is a blast.
When home, I have a river with steelhead and salmon out my front door and we use artificial lures for them. Down the road at the pond we use worms for rainbows.
Ummmm, so when are ya gonna invite ol' CJ over to the front yard?

Is there a green with envy smiley?
I enjoy lake trout fishing, and since I have 4 boys 12,12,12, and 9 and a girl who fishes also 10, plus the wife, all I can do is try to keep about 3 to 4 lines wet at the same time. I hydrate myself well and train for about 2 weeks prior to a fishing trip. I can cut a snarl, re rig and have the line wet again in about 4 minutes. I beat any child if they reel in with bait still on the hook. I use a phone book to hinder bruising . That way it is not traceable to child support services.
Actually it is getting better, I usually let the boys rig up a plastic mud puppy with a weedless hook and they are learning to cast real good now. They have fun, and I can relax. I am slowly becoming a brighter lure in the tackle box.
My best fishing experiences are in Cabo San Lucas. I have caught lots of dorado, tuna, one wahoo, and countless rooster fish. One rooster was 44 lbs, and it kicked the snot out of me getting that one on the boat. You troll about 100 yds off the shore, and you see that dorsal fin rise, your bait fish spaz prior to being eaten, your line starts peeliing off the spool while the rooster is running, and then the 6 second count before you set the hook. If you set the hook too early, and miss, the ponga captain will cuss you out in a mixture of spanish, portugeuse and Lord knows what language. Then he will get on the radio and tell all his buddies what an idiot you were for premature hooksetulation. It is a gas, and beautiful; country, women, and whatever else you want at lands end.
