Hey fellow fishermans. I actually have something to contribute to this thread.
Went out fishing in my almost new kayak today.
Didn't catch anything but had a good time on the lake.
I got too good a deal on this Walmart Kayak (Lifetime) from my neighbor.
He had just bought it this summer, but decided he wanted a sit on top for fishing so he sold me this one for cheap.($50)
It ain't great for fishing out of, but I can back troll for trout no problem.(haven't caught any trout yet in three attempts)
I have also been fishing the pond up in the woods where I hike and catching Smallmouth Bass and Crappie.
I was using this telescoping pole with a Zebco Micro 33 until I broke it the other day trying to horse a lure off a snag.
I know better than to pull on the rod, but I had a brain fart and reefed on it and snap it went.
It sure was fun catching pan fish on that little setup.
Luckily I have a couple of spares, but I loved the telescoping pole because it fit in my pack leaving my hands free for the trekking poles.
Oh well, I have sewn a tie off patch onto my pack and can pack one of my 2 piece poles on the outside now.
Going back to the pond tomorrow.......
