I would like to get together with some blade forum members for a fishing trip in Connecticut. We have a few options on how we could do this. We could fish on the ocean, camp and fish in small streams, or actually take a canoe trip on a lake or river and pull ashore at night to camp (although according to Kevin Estela, there are limited places in CT to do this). I personally think a boating trip would be cool, but I want to leave it up to the people that go along, so specify which type of trip you would like to take most. I personally have a decent amount of camping experience, but very little with fishing so this is by no means only for advanced fisherman, although having a few along would be great to help out guys like me. In addition to fishing, I would like to practice and share survival skills with all who go along.
The tentative date for this trip is July 12-14, which is a weekend trip (Friday to Sunday). Also, there is a chance that Kevin may be able to get us some boats at a good rate if we decide to do the river trip. If we decide on an ocean trip, I am not sure where to get a boat. Maybe someone with more experience could weigh in.
Please let me know if you guys have an interest in this trip.

Well I think that is a great idea. I am about the opposite of you though, my camping experience is lacking, but I have been fishing my whole life. Whether salt water or fresh water I have alot of quipment and would love the idea of bringing it to share during the trip. If we do a saltwater boat trip there are a bunch of charter boats available in CT. Most boats provide rod, reel, and bait for all. I however prefer the canoe/ camping trip but I think Kevin is right about CT being a tuff place to get that done. I will do some checking. Unfortunately that weekend will not work for me, I will just be getting back from Sweden, and I would want to spend time with my wife and daughter before I took off again.

Tony, that was an arbitrary date that I chose, would the weekend after work for you? I can quickly change it before too many people post.

To be honest, all of June is pretty bad for me. I free up in July though, How does that work for you though.
