Fisk-Gambler's Set / Blade Show 07 Best Bowie

I am only sad to have to return them. It's a dilemma I participate in often... ;)

About as wonderful a set as I have ever seen. Yes, joeshredd, the steel is incredible.

What you may not see is the swedge on both of these is a chisel cut. Very inordinate work (unless you collect Hill Pearce's knives....)

I've never seen a nicer set of sheaths. Whoooey!

I was most pleased with having this opportunity to show them and I used a combination of displays. I rarely use a portrait mode with the blade going away, but this one just worked. Glad all of you enjoy.

That pesky dragonfly is buzzing all over the place.... ;) :D

Thank you, Kevin. And congrats to you and señor Fisk.

Coop

Actually Joe, the complete package including sheaths and photos cost about the same as some maker's nicer hunters alone. ;)

Thanks again for all the nice comments and thanks Jerry, Paul and Coop for going "ALL IN" on this project during one of the busier times of the year.
LOL.....I think I know to what you refer.:D Jerry really hit one....or actually two out of the park with this set. But it's not the first time he's done and surely not the last

And they are even better looking in person:thumbup: So Kevin.......how goes the hedge fund business or is it the cocaine importation business? I figure that is about the only way you can continue to aquire these incredible knives!!! lol. Just kidding..............just make sure you keep up the 2nd mortgage payments on your children:eek: :p

My response to your initial post was sort of tongue and cheek, but seriously Jerry's prices are towards the upper end of the ABS forged knife scale as they definitely should be, however this ABS price scale lags behind pricing for some other sectors IMO.

For example, a Boot Knife comparable (in statue, materials and embellishments) to the small knife in the Fisk set by a comparable maker in the stock removal sector such as Steve Johnson or Bob Loveless (just to name a couple) would cost about the same as the whole Fisk set or much more for the Loveless Boot Knife alone. There are also examples IMO to this to a lesser degree in the art knife sector.

So my point here is there are values to be had in the ABS Forged Blade sector as they have lagged behind some other categories in regard to pricing.

And as for my Fisk knives, they are NOT inexpensive by any means, however I have sold quite a few Fisk knives (from base model Senderos to embellished Bowies) to get my collection to current status and have never had a problem selling them and have profited on every sale.

So I will continue to buy Fisk Knives as the financial risk is low and the pleasure and chance for financial gain is high. ALL, just IMO of course.

They were an outstanding pair in person and the photos really capture the elegance and workmanship. It doesn't get much better IMO.
