Been outside cutting wood the last couple weeks. Today I took my Fisk OVB with me. My wife gave it to me a couple Birthdays ago, and its a beauty. If you have never held one, they are surprisingly light and thin for a large bowie style, feels more like a machete than a heavy chopper. A pure pleasure to wear. I am always aware of my Busse FBM on my side, but I can forget the OVB on my belt pretty quickly. My son and I do a lot of wild rose hacking (parts of our property are getting taken over). Of all the blades I own, nothing sails through the bushes like the OVB, it seems to have perfect geometry for that task. I did little wood chopping with it today, feels great! The pics might a little fuzzy, my hands were still shaking from the chainsaw...

That knife is TOO pretty for abuse like that!

Seriously, what a beautful brute of a blade!

MM,

Its a rule in all aspects of life: If its pretty, abuse it!

You are right about the finish, when you hold one of these, you know that have quality in your hand. Sorta like a driving a fine automobile (or bike!).

Lotoblades,
Yep, I thought the same thing until I looked at the funny twist of that tree trunk and decided that I wanted to stay on the right side of lawn for the game today! It seems like a great chopper, I would argue that Mr. Fisk knows how to design a knife...
