Heres one that includes a stand of Mahogany and brass that has been sprayed with a lacquer so the brass isnt supposed to tarnish. The damascus is 312 layers of nickel and 1095. The blade length is 7 1/4 inch and 1/4 inch thick with a convex grind and overall length is 12 3/8 inches. Handle is African Blackwood and fittings are nickel silver. Comes with 2 skullcrushers, one rounded and one pointy. Here is how I made this dagger.
I used 1095 and nickel for damascus. I start by forging the damascus billet in a gas forge and bringing up to welding temperature and hammer welding on the anvil and then fold and repeat process until I get a 312 layers and then forge the blade. Upon completion, I then normalize the steel. This sets the correct grain structure for tempering. The blade is heated to critical temperature (where a magnet will not stick) and then air cool. this is done three times for correct grain structure.
I then grind and polish blade and harden. It is then placed in a oven at 425 degrees for 2 hours.
Blade is sanded to a fine finish and acid etched to bring out Damascus pattern.
I turned the African Blackwood on a lathe and fluted it by hand carving and then polished it. Fittings are of nickel silver and turned on a lathe and the guard is hand made, all polished. I weld a small piece of allthread on tang of blade so the dagger could then be screwed together and also glued. Truly a kings dagger.
