Fitting a 1" belt on a 3" grinder?

Yes I often run 1" belts on my 2" machine.Long as the length is the same should not be a problem.

Sould work but you might have a problem getting the belt to track to either side of the contact wheel but its worth trying.
 
I just bought some 1/2" belts for detailed work - they work pretty well even on my 2" grinder (I'm running them on a KMG").

I'd give it a shot...
