I've made a couple knives with larger handles for customers who have large hands. They were local and they just had "large" hands so, it was easy enough to adjust the fit for them. I just took a long-distance order from a guy who is 6'8". I had him measure his hand and it is 4-1/2" across the palm at the base of the fingers and 9-1/2" from base of the palm to fingertip. That is huge! So any experienced makers have a rule of thumb on handle sizing? The knife will be a custom design so I can work with proportions but I need to make sure the handle is going to work for him. Thanks for any input.
