Five Best Looking

I haven't posted in John's thread yet (I've been meaning to), but I think this one's a little easier to answer (for me at least), so I'll do it first. Now I will say that my opinion of what makes a "good looking" pocket knife does, on occasion, vary from what most people think. In other words, feel free to wholeheartedly disagree with any of my choices here. :D

I'll start with this #77 Yankee Jack. I still contend that this is one of the best looking knives GEC has ever made.

2019 Guardians Lambsfoot in Ironwood. You can't tell me this one's not beautiful! @Jack Black has given the Guardians some good looking knives, but this one, in my opinion, is the best of the best.

Now here's where I may lose some of y'all. ;) #71 Bull Nose in Tortoise Shell Acrylic. I love the Bull Nose, it's one of my favorite GEC patterns, but I think we can all agree that, in general, they aren't the prettiest knives out there. But Bob (RIP) at Old Hundred Collectibles had this SFO gussied up in Tortoise Shell, and I'm here to tell you, I think this is one fine looking knife. I particularly like the way the Tortoise Shell Acrylic looks on a shadow pattern.

This is the newest knife that I'll add to this list. I picked up this little guy because I didn't have a #33, and I thought these looked good in the production photos, but I was honestly blown away by how much I liked it when I actually got it in my hands. (It's on of those knives that I think is so good looking, I haven't been able to bring myself to carry it... yet.)

This last one I picked based on the pattern first. There's something about the shape of these little spearpoint #25's, both closed and opened, that I just find aesthetically pleasing. I like the proportions, and the symmetry. Picking which spearpoint #25 I would consider the best looking one that I own was a bit more difficult. In the end, I landed on what is arguably the plainest one that I have, but there's something about the simplicity of it that makes this one beautiful to me. (And if there's one thing we can all agree on, it's that the hotdog shield is the best looking shield that GEC uses. ;) :D)

I don't have the ability to pick my top 5 so I'll go with 5 that would all be in the running

I love coke bottles :)

Last but not least, I must represent pearl. You have to hold a pearl knife to appreciate it.:thumbsup:

That case coke bottle is amazing! Such a beautiful knife.

Only FIVE? All my knives are exquisite...it's a bit like asking which is your brightest child or most beautiful girlfriend ;) or cat :D

Here's three to start, two more to follow. I think the rules should be strictly enforced and pedantry should rule ;) Anybody showing MORE than 5 or LESS o_O must hand over all the knives for a GAW

I know what you mean, Will. I could easily come up with a different five several more times . . . and they might be better than the five I showed first. We really are a blessed community. I also note and like the fact that there are both users and safe queens shown, and each knife is beautiful in its own way.

Keep 'em comin'! :thumbsup::)

This is not an easy ask for me. I'll make sure to follow the rules though, so Will doesn't call for a GAW of my knives!
Let it be known that it's quite likely that I'll smack my forehead and do a "Doh I should have posted...!" shortly after hitting the Reply button.
OK, I've been deleting and adding for five minutes.... I've got things I need to do! Here you go! I hope there's only 5!
Thanks for the cool thread, Jeff! Great choices everyone!

I plead guilty but if we can't cheat, then it's no more a game!

All gorgeous, Gary! Please break the rules so I can have a chance at one of those beauties! ;):D

I agree! Show more!

Dan.

I don't have a big collection of traditionals, and most are users that aren't really fancy. I guess I could have posted those since I do really like how they look, but this is a good chance to show a couple that I wouldn't otherwise post often.

And a fixed blade of course.

P you beat me to it with the Forum Barlow. One of my favorites. As for Will. He's over in one of them foreign countries. I think you can ignore him.

Will you settle for three?
I think these are the "prettiest"/suitable for fancy go to meetin'/office I have.
GEC/Northfield UN-X-LD 852211 Harness Jack, all gussied up in real burnt stag.
(yeah ... yeah ... I know ... I know ... it's been used and sharpened, so whatever "collector value" it had is shot to h---.
I don't care. It was a gift, so it will never be sold. I'll probably have my heir put it (and a couple others) in my pocket before they close the lid for the last time.)

CASE TB61028 DAM Tear Drop, Mediterranean Blue Stag Bone(?) and real Damascus blade. (Ladder Damascus?)
It too was a gift, has been used and sharpened, and will probably go in my pocket, as well.

Rough Ryder RR1419 "Large" 3 7/8/3.875inch closed Stoneworx Stockman.

Everything else I have is nothing fancy. Their only quote/unquote "beauty" is in their functionality.
For example, this weeks carry:

Rough Ryder "Classic Carbon" RR2040 Barlow, RR1740 large (4.375 inch closed) Stockman, and SK Blades Smoke Jumper 110LT.

I think I'll have to do this knife by knife. One of my most carried and used because I think it has some of the most beautiful jigged bone covers.
