Five Blems for 9/20

Did you get it oldschool? I was notified it is long gone.

I had also tried for the FF, it was the first time a FF appealed to me. By the time I emailed for both and got back here I saw others had beat me to the FF; so I just posted about the KK. By the time I posted I saw you had probably beat me to it. I guess I need to stop being greedy.

WOW! You posted just 2 minutes later! Sorry to hear that, and congrats to the lucky shark. I would love a review of it once all the rust is off... stupid floods...
 
FYI-That Foxy's Folly is really the YCS that I had ordered and got caught in the flooding. Although the blade had been refinished, the scabbard hadn't been dried out and the blade rusted in shipment. Heck of a price and from the photo it doesn't look too rusted...hard to tell though.

heinlein, I got the Katne.
So long as the stealth sharks aren't screwing with Yangdu financially I'm good with them NBDBBM like I posted in the changes to the DOTD thread. There is an advantage I can see to having a "stealth shark" in the water but I won't air it in the open.
That 20" AK is a beast and the Foxy Folly/YCS is right in that length/weight range I'm looking for.
 
I see the advantage for the stealth shark but I only see one as a frustration for everyone else.
I also agree that it is their business and I am not trying in any way to make any rules.
 
Warty I think you are thinking to narrowly. If you think it all the way through and reach the same conclusion I did you won't post it either. Because either; I'm delusional, I'm right and it can't be proven.
This a a game of social mores with nobody to enforce them kinda of fun to watch even better to be able to play. No I am not the Stig:p

This would make a terrific little fighter with the vicious clip point, and is far less intimidating to have on one's belt than a longer kuk. Just watch out for your state/local knife laws that would call it a "dirk or dagger" and thus require open carry at all times or prohibit it altogether perhaps. Some cops unaware of their own laws might freak out on you and overreact because of the purpose-driven blade shape.
The one complaint I could possibly raise is the lack of a lanyard hole; but that's just me, and I am sure one could think of a mod to fix that.

a dirk and dagger have VERY specific and narrow legal definitions in almost all states afaik. no problems with that ;)

still, you might get an officer of the law that doesn't know the law completely, and "makes it up as they go along"... remember, their job is not to know OR interpret the law, it's to make arrests and revenue (i feel bad for my buddies who ARE cops)

Hah! believe me, i try my hardest to keep my iphone running optimally during dotds, but it just runs terribly because of reception (i work on the basement level of a resort in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip). Too many conventioneers, tourists and degenerate gamblers soaking up my precious cellular reception. :D

Thanks for the welcome. I missed it, but bet the new owner will be happy. I've been lurking for quite some time. Guess it's time to just place an order :)
 
Now that I'm home and can actually USE a computer, I'm the one who managed to get the Bonecutter. Man, you guys are fast!! I got in 8 minutes after the post and almost lost out (did lose out on the AK). This could get to be a (bad?) habit.
I actually have two of the heavy CS Khukri's, finally took one out, but I don't think they cut all that well (doesn't help that they are $$).
Lots of good info on this site, and I've learned a bit, and look forward to learning more.
