Five for August?

What? I thought you'd have a Buck 110 or 112 in there for sure...oh wait, that'd be me.
Nice choices my friend . Are you going with any secondary blades or just one knife a day?

Alright, got my 5 figured out. Here's my choices:

Those are good choices. I could easily pick five for a month. My knife "rotation" isn't really a rotation because I may carry a knife for two days or I may carry it for two weeks before I change, but the rotation hasn't ever been more than a few knives. For some time the only knives that have really seen any use are my Sebenza 25, PJ Inkosi, Red DLT Manix 2, the new Ritter, and the Laconico Keen. I'll probably always be looking for the "perfect" knife, but those five seem to be as close as I'm going to get for now, so they're the ones that get carried & used.
(Of course, I'm not counting the Alox Cadet that is always in my left front pocket.)

5! - i was going to say 1 for 2019 - but thats just my pocket carry. Domino in XHP

I also have an injection in my man purse - which goes almost everywhere with me.

I can't deal with extraneous choices.

I usually have at least some kind of SAK on me and that definitely won’t change. Still on the fence about single bladed mini knives that I often carry. We'll see. I might forgo them this month just for the sake of getting more use on the main ones.

..... Anyone else contemplating any carry experiments?
I’m now 7 months into the “1 CRK knife for 1 year" challenge that’s currently going on in the CRK forum.

It’s made me realize that the biggest number of EDC folders I could sanely and logically rationalize owning would be two -- my primary EDC and a secondary EDC (as a back-up, in case the primary got broken or lost).

That realization has led to my stopping buying high-end, costly folders as carelessly as if they were $30 disposable toys. This is a good thing because I already have more folders than I’ll ever have any actual use for. It’s also made me look at my little (~30 folders) collection and realize that:
1: I could easily sell off at least half of them without tossing even one that I’d really miss.
2: My newbie phase of uninhibitedly buying more costly, high quality folders just because I can is now definitely over.
3: I really should start selling off the bottom half of my collection. I just don’t have enough children and grandchildren to leave my folders to, and most of them won’t have any need or use for crazy old grandpa’s folding knives anyhow.

Oh, well...at least I caught myself and got a grip at the 1-year/30 knife point instead of at the 5-year/150 knife point.

The moral of my story is “be careful of what EDC limitation challenges you get into.” If you stick with any such self-limiting commitments for any significant period of time, you may well find yourself arriving at unwanted, “no fun” conclusions. And--the more severe the self-limitation and the longer the commitment, the more the conclusions will be unwanted and no fun.

All of that being said, 5 knives for one month isn’t badly restrictive and it isn't for very long. You should be able to survive that without doing a total reset of your view about buying and owning EDC folders.

....Now I just have to decide on the 5. What do ya'll think? Anyone else contemplating any carry experiments?
Nope. But in all honesty, 5 is about the number that I own that I might choose to carry. I have gotten into a total rut with using knives. I carry a Vic Small Tinker every day now and it handles 90% of all the knife tasks I do on a regular basis. I add another one from time to time, but "5" is about what I consider to add to the Small Tinker. And, I don't mean I have five knives that I want to buy at the moment or in August.

I have about two knives on my "to buy" list right now. One is a back up Small Tinker (~$20) and the other is a White River fixed blade. Oh, just remembered that I want to get the little mini kephart that Condor is making. Again, no big money....

A Spyderco Salt model might have it's place in there, especially if you make it over to the coast now and then.
