"Five Knife Stud"

Hey Jeff, this is a cool thread. Nice hands fella's.
In the next 2 weeks I have a few new "cards" dealt to me. I'll deal out my hand then.In the meanwhile, nice show

Vince, I think you get a few new "cards" dealt to you every couple weeks! ;)

How about anteing up with some new photos.

Everyone who wants to play, compose and photograph your five favorites knives you own, your best "Five Knife Stud" hand.
Can be fixed or folder, as long as they are Traditional. :p

Here's mine. Lousy camera won't focus much anymore:( Here's my current favored 5. Top left-right, first is my first Case, an amber medium Texas Toothpick, Queen mountain man, Colonial Barlow, Slimline cv Trapper, and last of all is my "Purple Heart" bowie.

Not as fancy but just as traditional, Magic/Trick Knives by IIRC Imperial.

These show that ya ain't gotta spend a lot to collect, if ya collect the ones from the 70s down, they make decent EDCs.

Best I could muster was "Four Of A Kind" (or a "flush" depending upon your point of view)...:

...unless we're playing with a "wild card":

Elliott, I've been waitin' for the Bluesman to jump in, but that looks more like Count Basie with all the white tuxes! :p
Great lineup!

Thanks, Jeff...Just remember what "Duke" (Edward Kennedy) Ellington so aptly said...
It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)

(They don't make 'em like the "Count" or the "Duke" anymore...Talk about tradition...)

Elliott called me for double dealing. There's no way I can win this game with production knives, but I want to play anyway. I'll be posting some combos up for fun. - Ed

Dr. Bill, I like those knives. That's a flush if ever I saw one. Actually, looks more like a straight flush to me. That one is going to be hard to beat. I think I'll fold.

Here's a couple hands. Might be able to find some more hands with enough looking and imagination:

Hand 1: Copperlocks - Full house

Hand 2: Silver Knights - Full house

I've got some more Silver Knights, I've got some ideas for some more hands.

Either someone's double dealing or has got a second deck secreted under the table.

Four of a kind with an ace in the hole ain't bad!

Well, since it's an ebony scaled knife and has the appropriate blade, it must be the ace of speys

(grinning, ducking and running!!! ;):p:D)

Hey Elliott, I think Kerry Hampton hacked your password and is trying to make you look bad. :p

I'm not at liberty to say anything that can be construed as defamatory towards Kerry, presently. ;)

(He's recently sent me images of the knife he's working on for me and so I've got to bite my tongue. But you may be on to something...I'm just sayin'... :p)

Yep, wouldn't want him to rearrange his list (I'm pretty sure I've been bumped back a decade). ;)

One more hand of Silver Knights for tonight - four aces and a deuce (although I could make a case for a jack, but might get some argument).

I can't beat Dr. Bill without cheating somehow. But I did edit the post. I'm not sure how I did that anyway. If I knew, it might come in handy.

I found it when I went back to add the pictures.

Ed, my very first EDC, and still my longest running at around 15 consecutive years, was an abalone Silver Knight (now lost :grumpy:).
It looked very similar to the black lip you show, only a little bit lighter and with more "swirl" to the pattern.

I just had to do another pic to keep this thread alive, as I know there are many more "hands" left to show out there!

2ndStud.jpg

From left: GEC snakewood cuban, RAT ramhorn railsplitter, GEC casein scout, Queen City antique green teardrop jack, UN-X-LD burnt stag furtaker trapper.

Come on, fellas, more pics!!

Black mamba, I was infatuated with them in the 90's. I've got something over a dozen in different blade and handle combos. I've got a couple of checkerd kraton around here somewhere that I've got to put my hands on. A 250A and a 300A.

I was beginning to think I had killed the thead posting all those production knives. Encouraged now, I may try to find another interesting (maybe) hand to post. I've got other irons in the fire tonight though and have to deal with them first. The primary one is the IRS is looking for a tax return from me for 2009.
