Five years of Spyders

Thanks, I knew that would be a tough one:D

I really like all you mentioned, but I think the Savage is my overall favorite. Love that knife:thumbup:

Yeah man... no easy task there! Haha.
I'm glad you dig the Savage. Gotta take a few more pics of that guy today :)

This thread makes me miss my pair of Scorpius'. I had one in plain and one in serrated. That was back in my young knife buying days when I hadn't held and experienced enough folders to know what truly appeals to me. I regret selling so many knives, but it was all a learning experience.

Like the title states, it took five years to get to this point.
The end of last year marked the last slot of my SpyderPac being filled :)
A few more have entered the ranks since then.
Pretty much every single one has been a user

Dude, this picture is trippy!!

Man, and here I thought my collection of 8 spydercos was doing good. Must... Buy... More...

It's hard for me to just collect one brand of knife, but then again it's only been a couple months since I started getting into knives again and I have to say that Spyderco is fantastic. After I got my tenacious I wanted another one so I got a delica and now I want more. Maybe one day my collection will be this rad haha

Greetings "DagaOculta" :) Interesting thread and a really decent start on an awesome collection in the making. It does my soul good to see a new disciple of the Spyder-Kingdom

There is one item of interest I would like to challenge you and the other Brothers and Sisters on>> and that is what I like to refer to as "THE GOLDEN ERA OF SPYDERS" which I believe took place from 1998 to 2003. During that time I do firmly believe that many of the awesome models we see today were launched from a product platform put in place during that era IMO. And many of the GRAIL Spyders that many people are currently drooling over mostly came from that era. A few examples are the LIL Temperance, C-44 Dyad, Spyderhawk, Dodo, Lum Tanto Folder & Lum Fixed blade, original C-54 Calypso model, and so many more. So do take that under consideration or at least give it some thought.

Being you came aboard in the past 5 years you are literally picking much of the fruit that came forth from that era. And look at most of the recent Sprint Runs>> YES most of them are indeed out of that era 1998 to 2003.

But again it's a very interesting thread and the start of your collection is enviable to say the least

Hahaha that's what I was going for

Great collection! Is that a Southard with a custom black scale on the bottom left?

Thanks man. I RIT dyed the scales navy blue(ish).
It's not quite what I was going for, so gonna mess with it some more... thinking about polishing it down some as well.

Excellent collection! I like the fact that they are all users. Very cool
very nice collection, the love they all show makes it way better

Right on :)

Noted JD! Thanks for the greetings :)

Great collection. I was bit by the spyderbug, but my budget doesn't allow for a collection like yours. =]

Well, I have no girlfriend and no kids. I also don't go out to bars hardly ever anymore haha... only the occasional show or movie.

UUugugughhh those Lum Tantos... must have!

Yeah I love Bob Lum's tanto geometry! Get ready for the sprint fixed tanto reissue coming out this year man... :D

Noted JD! Thanks for the greetings :)

And BROTHER one other bit of advice I would like to offer you>> and that is to spice up that great collection with some of Spyderco's premium Hawkbills like the Harpy, Spyderhawk or even a TASMAN would add well to it. Also check out some of their great "Reverse S" blades like the Dodo and the Matriarch.

But again you have the makings of a world class collection>> But you do need a little more balance and you will find fully serrated Hawkbills to be an extremely handy tool and a great companion blade to go with whichever blade you have as your main EDC. Not a hard problem to remedy at all.

JD, check out that upper left corner ;)
I've played with a Matriarch before and would definitely pick one up... on the note of hawkbills, I'm on a preorder list for the Karahawk :D

Cool collection! I just got my first Spyderco a couple of months ago. With the amount of time I spend looking at the wide array of past, present and future models I can foresee my collection growing.
