Fix Blade Length?

When I am in the woods I usually carry my 10.5" custom made hammer-forged bowie. It is an extremely sharp knife that I can use even in lieu of a small axe. I also have a good pocket tool (either a Leatherman or a Victorinox)along with either a 4"- 5" fixed blade or, a folder. That being said, I have to clarify that I carry this bowie when I am in the woods where it is highly unlikely to meet with anyone else. If I were to be somewhere where others frequent a 7" RAT would be as high as I would go. In that case I would also carry my Gransfors Bruks Wildlife Hatchet.

For the last few years I have been carrying the shadow III for my edc. BUT just the other day I started to carry my Chris Reeves mountainiar IV with the 5.5 inch blade and
glad I did because I was oout cutting trees and pulling them to the dump site for them when I went to release the pull rope I was using got cought and wedged in between a branch that I could have cut out with my shadow III with a baton it just was to small for chopping out the tow rope but the 5.5 inch blade came through with flying colors I was impressed so I think that your choice real work just fine for what you need.

I will try and let everyone know how it works out, after I get the knife and take it to the woods. Hope it comes this week. Want to go camping this weekend, to much race traffic in town. May try to get a Shadow III to go with it.
