Fixed Blade 3-4"

Helle and Brusletto both have some really nice knives for under $50. I recently got a Karesuando "Älgen" from Ragnar. It's a shockingly good value at $40.

The Sharpfinger is a great design, but I didn't have much luck finding an acceptable example of one when I shopped at Walmart a couple of years ago. There were four or five that I looked at that had really messed up grinds. Eventually, I found one that seemed ok and bought it. Unfortunately, after getting it home and opening the package, I discovered that the blade was warped. The steel also seemed to be really hard and didn't respond well to sharpening attempts, so maybe something went wrong during the heat treatment.

Well I've picked up a Frost Mora with laminated carbon steel blade. It's excellent and very very sharp indeed.
I'm in the process of trying to make a leather sheath, but I need to get the needle and threads to actually sew them together.

I have one of those Martini M571's that I got from Kellam. A very nice user, and lots of bang for the buck. Very nice people to do business with too.

The folks at Kellam are indeed very nice to deal with. I just received a Heimo Roselli R125 from them yesterday. It's an outstanding puukko for the price.
