Fixed blade Belt carry Tip up vs Tip down

I'm only carrying it in the wilderness so that's fine. If this was EDC I'd probably carry it horizontal.
This is mostly about carrying a tool comfortably, with the stuff I have right now. I've looked at the clip up, down, sideways, and back and I don't think drilling more holes to make this sheath horizontal carry would work out. I'd have to place holes too close to existing ones. So I'll eventually look for a different clip that either is horizontal or extended traditional so it's in the same spot but tip down.

Edit: I may have found a spot where I can drill holes to carry it almost horizontal. I might try it.

I think I forgot to mention that I've had this knife for 4 days with one short hike, so this is just that best I could do so far.

Luckily I found two holes that would let me try out horizontal before I drill anything. (how did I miss them?? Well it's two holes and they're angled)

Straight away I ran into a problem. When I draw one handed the whole thing slides along my belt. Not good. The clip just isn't made for horizontal draw.
And although with my weirdo pseudo-dangler method makes left-hand draws a bit awkward the horizontal felt just "okay" for both hands.

I do seem to prefer vertical drawing as it's fairly comfy with both hands.

For now I've gone back to tip up but I was able to move the clip a little lower. About an inch of the sheath is above my belt but moving around with it on I don't find it uncomfortable.

This is probably the new position for me. The sheath is higher now meaning standing full upright the pommel is at the base of my fingers. Quite a bit more room for me to draw the blade out. There's also quite a bit of play between my belt and the clip.

I found out I can rotate the sheath a full 45 degrees in each direction before drawing. Helps immensely with left hand drawing. Might ruin my belt but that's dirt cheap and easy to replace.

Also wanted to say, when I backpack I use paracord for beltloops on my ESEE 4 sheath, carry tip Down about at the same height as your last photo.
Don`t interfear With my mpovement and easy to get to and Draw the knife, even With my backpack-belt covering the sheath....
