If it's just an EDC blade then it's most likely a folder or an Izula and they would be carried in my right front pocket. If I'm heading out camping, hiking or something to that effect then it's an ESEE-4 or 6 on the left shoulder strap of my pack at chest level and a Junglas in or mostly on the outside of my backpack, along with the folder or Izula in my pocket.

When hiking I either carry a day pack or a butt pack and my fixed blade, often a Bravo-1 is lashed to my pack in its sheath. If I have no pack it goes on my belt under my coat.

I still carry my big blade on my belt under my coat but move my Izula up to a neck sheath for easy access.

I'm a fan of pocket sheaths, so if the belt is obscured, the knife goes in the coat pocket. Bigger blades tend to ride in the pack regardless of the coat situation

Same place as always: Izzy rides between 10 and 2; ESEE 3 rides at either 9 or 3.

Where I live it rarely gets cold enough for a super Goretex parka type jacket. Appendix carry is fastest and most accessible year round.

I've never had a problem when wearing a jacket, I just have to pull the jacket out of the way when I want to get at the knife.

but if I'm wearing waterproof overtrousers, or some kind of overalls (eg painting overalls) I tend to just tie a loop of cord through the belt loop , or through the top eyelets (depending on the sheath) and hang it over my shoulder like a satchel.
