I have in my posession a very nice fixed blade 6.5 inch blade 1/4 inch thick sub-hilt knife with linen micarta handle material. the knife is marked W.F.on the blade and the workmanship is of excellent quality. The sub-hilts appear to be of german silver and the soldering is first rate. I believe the blade to be some type of stainless steel. I am interested in who the maker was, any history and the average value of this fine knife. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi Dick, welcome to Bladeforums!

Two choices listed in Knives Annual (1995 for example) with initials WF as a mark:

William Fiorini, Wendell Fox. I have no knowledge of their work other than what I just looked up.

Photos may be necessary.

You need to host them to post--or send them to me. I'll send you a link.

Thank you for your reply. Your work is awsome and as a professional photographer I am in a position to appreciate it. I will take some good photos of the knife and post them but I am unsure exactly how to do that. However, I can send them directly to you. It will probably be several days. Thanks again.

Posted these as a favor to our new member. Anyone familiar with this work?

I'm sorry to report that this probably has negligible value. The maker is unknown and the quality of the piece, although well-built, is not nearly up to current standards we see.

Enjoy it nonetheless.
