Anyone edc a fixed blade? I'd be super curious to see some pictures as I'm coming around on the idea...

Pics much appreciated!

Not a great pic, but the only one I have handy:

EDC fixed blade in AEB-L by Kyle Bettleyon. Full flat grind, hand rubbed finish, distal tapered tang, carbon fiber, sweetness.

I've been toying with carrying this one, I carry it occasionally on weekends. It is a custom knife a local maker made for me maybe 10 years ago, I finally decided I should get some use out of it. It is about 8" long and a little longer than I thought I could use, but it turns out to be about the minimum length.

I wanted something I could drop in my jeans pocket and go. I had thought about 6.75" length would fit in my pocket with an appropriate sheath. I finally found a BRK that is about 7" long and tried it. I found that it would probably fit in my pocket but the handle is a bit too small for what I wanted. The 8" blade works better for me.

Thanks for the pic blue metal! Didn't mean to double up on your topic!

BDMicarta, thanks for that bark river pic! I wear jeans every day and I love the idea of pocket carry. Do you find that you have to pull the whole sheath out to use the knife? Or can you safely draw and re sheath it with the sheath still in your pocket?

Keep the pics coming!

No worries at all. Just sharing some info that was shared with me. :)

As it is now it is a 2-hand operation. I think you can loop a lanyard through the end of the sheath and around your belt, and when you pull the knife this will pull the sheath off. Then you have to use 2 hands to re-sheath. To make it work one-handed I think you would need a pocket clip on the sheath, or a belt sheath. I saw photos on the forum recently of a sheath with a pocket clip. But actually the Bark River sheath is intended to work as a neck knife.
