I have been skulking around the forums a bit as I started looking into EDC.
The problem is right now I am on the fence between 2 knives.

1. ESSE Izula II: Simple no nonsense knife that looks good and has rave reviews.

2. Böker Rhino: Beautiful... but made in China from what I've heard.

I was wondering what everyone thought about those two.
Any other suggestions less than 4 inches and under $50 like the other 2?
I really like made in MURICA!

Fixed blades only please and laws are not an issue as I am in Arizona land of whatever weapon you want.🌵

Don't know anything about the rhino but you can't go wrong with an Izula.

aside from that there's the Ka-Bar Becker BK11, 14, and 24. I also really like the CRKT Ritter RSK mk6.

I'm a big fan of the Izula, and you really can't beat the ESEE no questions asked warranty.

Some other options are:
ESEE Candiru - around 50 bucks, a smaller option than the Izula.
Becker BK11 or BK14. Both between 30 and 40 bucks, 3.75ish inch blade. The 11 has a shorter handle that includes a bottle opener, the 14 has an Izula-style hole and is a bit more comfortable, IMO.
Edit: forgot about the BK24. Same as the BK14 but made in D2 (awesome edge retention, semi-stainless), just a hair over $50.

Also, the ever popular Moras, which start at around $12. Super light, and they come screamin' sharp. You can get them in carbon steel or Sandvik stainless. More Scandanavian/bushcraft style, which may not be what you're looking for.

That Walker is pretty cool.

my logical brain tells me to just get the izula 2
But my inner homo says the rhino is FABULOUS!

Anyone have any experience with the rhino?

I looked at the mora but I opted for a stouter fixed and a victorinox farmer as my other edc.

I would feel better carrying the izula if I needed a stout fixed blade EDC. No experience with the rhino, but the izula is tried and tested, it also comes with an awesome warranty from a USA company.

I'm not a fan of boker. But I think you take a look at the Kabar Becker line.

I would go with the Izula or a Becker, or a Bark River Necker 2 if you want something a little nicer. I'm not a huge fan of Boker outside of their traditional knives. But hey, it's whatever catches your eye :D

Kershaw skyline fixed blade 1084 blem from kershawguy.com. Same thing as the folder except its a fixed blade, the sheath is crap. You can get a kydex sheath for the 1084 on bladehq but its has a tight hold on the blade. You can get a sheath tec loc and the 1084 for around $60.

Out of your two choices I prefer the Izula. It is a very useful knife across a broad spectrum of tasks. One you have not looked at is the low cost Outdoor Edge Wedge. It is one hand retrievable, almost flying into your hand, locks in securely, one hand can put it back into the sheath, it can do most things an Izula can do (I would not baton with it, but I know of someone who has) and is only about $15. It is also shorter so it is easier to carry. I also have the Izula and you can't go wrong with that choice (it does take two hands to put back into the sheath, and two to retract if carried in a pocket).

Ok I got the izula 2 and it's great but a little too small. I'm going to go ahead and get another.
But the new question is 3 or 4... I'm leaning towards 4.

Thoughts?

No pictures yet it is saying file to large lol.

The buck paklite skinner is an intriguing option. It's 420hc, and made in the Usa. It can be had for around 21 bucks.

Thanks but I am fully sold with esee and their quality. It will be the 3 or 4. Just looking for some input on those 2 knives.

Fixed edc. Isn't Arizona great?
