I carry a small (5,7" overall) Busse Assault Shaker in a Leatherman (Dwayne Puckett) horisontal sheath every day and pretty much everywhere.
I alternate with a Swamp Rat Bandicoot and a Camillus CQB-1 at times, but only in the woods!
If you haven't already, you might want to take a look at a Benchmade 180 Outbounder. Light, feels good in hand (my hands anyway) and the butt of the handle is rounded so it won't "pinch" you!
The standard sheath is nothing to write home about, but I am sure a guy like Dwayne (www.armoralleather.com) could make a nice leather sheath for it from your specifications. If you prefer kydex, Brian (Oku) (www.okuden.net) or Eric from On/Scene tactical can make one that will fit!
If you want to spend more money, there's the Busse Active Duty, Dozier Agent and several other very nice knives in that size! Hope this helps rather than add confusion!
