Hey guys,
I am looking for a medium size fixed blade to mount to my EDC versipack.
While at my parents house over memorial day weekend, there were a few instances where I really wished that I had a fixed blade. Such as clearing small brush/branches, battoning wood for a campfire, making shims to level a picnic table, etc. Now, I could have used my large backup folder for the the day (ZT 0200) but I really didn't want to thump on that beauty.
Here is where I need your help. I was doing a little research and I have found 2 blades (Becker BK11 & ESEE 4) that might work, but I would appreciate more suggestions.
The desired specs:
3" to 5.5"
Carbon Steel
Flat grind
Kydex sheath
Thinner profile
Handle scales included/separately purchased
$100 Max (Preferably less)
I really like the BK11 but I am concerned that the blade might not be long enough for battoning. On the flip side, the ESEE 4 looks close to perfect but it is quite pricy.
Edit: req. update
