Fixed Blade for Car/Truck

I have a backpack that lives in my truck. I keep first aide stuff, short term survival stuff, etc in it. Inside that backpack I have an ESEE 4, SAK Spartan, Fiskars Hatchet, Fiskars Folding Saw. There is also a cheap machete that rides beside the backpack. I shop for sales and have about $150 total investment for all of that.

I have an SRK, tried to use it as a chopper and failed. It’s not heavy enough.

It comes with a steep grind and not very sharp, so you’ll have some re-grinding if you want it to be properly sharp.

Build quality feels great, though; very solid.

Mora makes a better knife for less cost, IMO.

The new Victorinox should also be a contender, if it’s in budget.
I re-profiled my SRK to a convex edge as the factory edge was way too obtuse. Cuts like a scalpel now.
