Fixed blade for EDC ?

CRK shadow III or mountaineer I (4 inch blades). If I need it smaller, a klotzli hunter (3 inch blade). In my kayak: CRKT Ryan Plan B as a necknife.

Agree with BENCHMADE Nimravus Cub and 3-inched Klotzli Hunter.
However I would take a careful look onto SPYDERCO side. Their Bill Moran Featherweight and Fred Perrin Bowie (if you like somewhat bigger knife) look pretty suitable for concealed daily carry if such need arises. Mostly due to excellent multi-carry sheath with Tek-Lok clip.

I've just ordered a small fixed blade (2 3/4" Helle 'Polar')for wear at work and around town in lieu of my pocket knife. Work at army fort and we're regulated to shorter blades than state of Tx. allows. May just carry a smaller pocket knife (less hassle) in addition to fixed blade.
I personally prefer fixed blade knives. A fixed blade in the 3 1/2 -4" range is : handier than folding knife and usually slightly longer and possibly less hassle than the pocket knife.

Thanks for the replies everyone, it seems that fixed blades get more carry time than I would have thought.

Knifedaddy,
Sport coat + small fixed blade = invisible ;)

Wilco,
The Active Duty is what got me started on this subject. I'm axiously awaiting the e-mail :):) :p  :) :)

Brent...
:p

I'd go with a Busse "Badger Attack" or "Public Defender" Great knives and legal in your area! If you want something cheaper look into a Cold Steel "Recon Tanto".;)

Dozier Slim Outdoorsman in Horizontal cross draw sheath. 3.25" of sharp, handy D2, Perfect for EDC.

Top knife in my avatar-DDR CF AL-is carried everyday as a necker. Bottom one, a Rinaldi Gambit, is carried frequently horizontal cross draw on the belt.
I've got some folders I like, but you can't beat a fixed blade, IMO.
