Hi everyone,

What material is best for the thin green part of this handle? I have no idea what to call it which explains why the title of this thread is so dull.

Thank you so much,

I have always heard and called it Liner. Thin G10 is commonly used. But there has been various other materials used. I like using g10, it's cheap and easy to work with. It's available in many colors. Just about any knife making supply will have it.

Looks up Jantz supply for liner material. It's known as fish paper. It's rubberized paper that is used to insulate electrical components, like motors and switch gear. Jantz sells in it in many colours.

"Vulcanized fiber liners" is the term that is commonly used on suppliers websites for the material you pictured. It is not totally stable and can swell/shrink with changes in moisture levels, a lot of makers have had problems with it and stopped using it.
I use thin sheets of G10, availible from some suppliers. It is stable and moisture proof. Alpha Knife Supply has the biggest selection that I know of.

The liners on the knife pictured appear to be phosphorescent G 10.
