If used in extremly cold weather, metal handles can be quite uncomfortable to hold. What would you recommend using to wrap the handles. I know I could wear gloves, but it would be difficult to control the knife.

best solution i've heard is to pull a piece of bicycle tire tube over it. find a size slightly smaller than the dia. of your handle (no doubt you can get freebees w/holes from any bike shop), cut to length, then voila!

pretty nifty...

At the sporting goods store the other day I saw something that I thought would be great for knife handle covers. It's made for tennis racquet handles. It's a tacky (grippy) rubber tube that shrinks after exposure to air. I can't remember the name of it, but the next time I go to that store I'll try to look at it again. You might also try Pachmyr Pac-skins, which are an adhesive rubber made for gun stocks and pistol grips.

Them:"What's that clipped to your pocket, a beeper?"
Me:"Uuh....yeah, something like that."
