fixed blade hunter / bush knife ( similar to Winkler II spike)

Hello All

I am looking for a knife that is similar in size and weight to the Winkler II spike belt knife but lower in price
- about 4 to 5 inch blade
- drop point or clip point
- wood handle
- about 7-8 ounces
- spike / pry at the end of handle
- blade can be acid washed or similar , not shiny

I like the rugged utilitarian look and feel of the Winkler Spike belt knife (which I own) but want something similar that is not so expensive in case I lose it during hiking / hunting

How much lower in price?

And do prefer carbon steel as well, or is stainless a suitable option?

Boker Arbolito Venador (made in Germany) is hollow ground, n695 stainless, and while not exact, afyer checking tbe stats, it is close in every dimension to the Winkler, length, cutting edge, handle width, weight, etc.
-And it's under $100. But, it is shiny.

Esee 4p is a tad bit smaller in the blade and handle,, and one oz. heavier, but the flat ground 1095 blade should perform similar to the wink.
- the laser strike is more blade and handle but also more weight.

Cold Steel Master Hunter is a bit shorter and stainless, but flat ground and very similar dimensions in handle length, blade thickness, and weight. Also shiny.

While not wood handled, my current favorite field knife is the ZT0180. Vanadis 4 Extra steel, Full Tang, G10 handles. The butt could probably be used for pounding as the tang extends past the handle.

Winkler makes fantastic sheaths. I can't imagine myself losing one of my winkler fixed blades while hiking or hunting. There is great retention, which you can even tighten the screws yourself to make it harder to "lose" your knife.

Life is too short not to carry your good knife. Your spike is not a museum piece, it's a tool. Carry that thing!
