Looking for a good fixed blade knife. I plan on carrying it while hunting/wandering around in the woods. I would like the blade length to be around 5" and the cost close to $50. I have narrowed my knife choices down to a few, I would like some feedback from those who have used these knives.
Buck 102 Woodsman
Kabar Short USMC
Gerber Strongarm
Buck Vanguard
Some sort of 5ish" blade Becker. Haven't done a lot of research on these.

I have a couple Mora's which are terrific but I want something with more character. Thanks for any feedback!

Would its primary use be for dressing game? If so, you may want to go with stainless.

Buck Vanguard would be my choice especially the Cabelas Alaskan Wildlife version in S30V which costs a bit more.

I had the KaBar short, I liked the knife overall, but I wouldn't use it for hard use, I just don't trust rat tail tangs. I loved the sheath 10X more then the knife, I really liked the nylon belt loop, very comfortable and secure. You might consider the Schrade line of fixed blades if you haven't already. I got my eye on the SCHF42, some people might not like them because they are "cheap" knives, but I got a couple and like them.

I hunt on private property so as soon as I get a deer I take it to the shop and clean it, I use my Mora's for that task.

If I can find a vanguard S30V on sale I would probably spring for it.

I'll check out the shrade line.

Thanks for the suggestions
