Fixed Blade, Less Than Two Inch Blade

The Nemesis Hellion is nice & quite a slicer, but I'd also suggest a Little Bird made by Ranger Knives. If he's still making them. The blade's under 2", scales are black or tan micarta standard (Though he'll put just about anything on them) & the steel is 1095, so it's pretty good & it's thick for a little knife.

Mine's flat ground, polished, with blue/black G-10. Comes with a nice little kydex sheath.

How about one of the A. G. Russell designed, CRKT Ringers?

The CRKT Ringer 3 looks interesting but I am not sure about the 3Cr13 steel. Anyone actually use this knife as a daily user? I made a scale model out of cardboard and it seems to fit my hand. I like little 'big' knives. The Subcom folder and the Lava have the ability to fill my hand in a compact package but it sure is hard to find a sub 2" fixed with enough of a hande for me. The Subcom fixed is so close!

Great suggestions so far but nothing else has actually jumped out at me.

Anyone have anything else that might fill the bill? :D

AG Russell, buy three hunter's scalpels. At 20.00 each, that adds up to your 60.00 reg.oops the blade is 2.5 in ,but I don't think anybody will notice

Sorry about being a stickler on the blade length.

It cannot be over 2" as I work in a public school and anything over 2 is a Felony.

I know I am asking for the impossible. ;)

Thank you for all of the help everyone!! :D

Fixed approved at work but 2" or less only. ;)

I'm in the same situation - and a BRKT Mikro-Canadian is my EDC. Here's the specs:

Overall Length: 5 Inches
Blade Length: 1.750 Inches
Blade Steel: A-2
Blade Hardness: 59-60
Blade Thickness: .150 Inch
Weight: 1.7 Ounces

It's a great little work horse of a knife, does a lot more than you might expect.

It's also available in some great looking handle materials, which can make it look even more sheeple friendly.

When I suggested the Boker Subcom I was thinking the blade was only 2 inches; sorry about that. However someone was right on with the other Boker CLB design; it is exactly 2 inches. Unfortunately, the Woodswalker is 2 1/4. But rifon2's suggestion of the Anza knives is excellent. I have a few of theirs, and the are very good for the price, and you can get a short blade with a longer, more comfortable, handle. Not always easy to find.

I have a Bark River Mikro Canadian and it is a fantistic knife. But you have to be in the right place at the right time to get one for $60. However, if that is the case, it would be my first choice.

Another vote for the Bark River PSK. Or the Ranger Little Bird when Ontario releases it.

The little bird is interesting. Is it in stone that Ontario will be selling it? Has there been any talk about changing the knife? What is the model with the exposed end for breaking glass? Same knife with the alteration and a increase in price?

The sub 2" catagory is rather limited but everyone has shown me something different. Trying to decide has been tough, with a lot of mock ups made.

Thank you for all of the great suggestions!!

Wanted to follow up.

I ended up getting a current Ranger Little Bird and love it. It stays put in my left front pocket to the right of my wallet and I can still clip my Delica on the left side of my left pocket when off work.

Still looking at the BRKT Mikro-Canadian though. I wish I could hold one though. Any comments on the Mikro-Canadian vs. the Mikro-Canadian II blade?

I think I like the Ivory Micarta, does it easily stain?
