18" my lord. I just need somthing so I dont kill my folders. 4-6" is about right.

For that size range, the Swamp Rat Howling Rat or Bandicoot (if you want a narrower blade) would be your best bet. Neither are choppers, but you can baton the hell out of them with no worries.

As far as abuse, Swamp Rat (the company), begs you to bring it on. The owner writes the warranty and it follows the knife not the original purchaser (if you can find a used one). Even the handles are covered.

At least do yourself the favor of visiting www.swamprat.com before spending your money on a lesser blade. There might be a wait, but it's well worth it.
