Fixed Blade size for EDC ??

Wow... 🙄
If you can't read the room: stop wondering why nobody is clapping.
Carrying a knife on a camping trip is much different than carrying one to the office.
"Situational adjustments" make this discussion a "Run what you brung" game, and there is NO wrong answer.
But nobody was discussing laws or policies.
My apologies. I was only replying to something mentioned in the man's post. I surely didn't recognize Bladeforums was so sensitive. Adios Bladeforms.

I never expected to see Bob Denman Bob Denman sending anyone in search of a safe space. 😮

Look, knife regulations are almost universally stupid and almost universally fail to make anyone safer. Beyond that, there is a sub-forum here for discussing politics.

Like I said before, concealment matters to me for social reasons, and not melting unreasonable snowflakes is a part of that. Of course, there is a little bit more to be said here. Today, I spent a little bit of time in the woods. I had these knives with me. The larger knife I carried on my belt could be much more challenging, or at least more of a consideration, to conceal in many social or professional settings. It's also significantly more knife than I need for those social or professional settings; at least when my defensive needs are being better satisfied by a concealed firearm. (Even thinking about defensive fixed blades, this wouldn't be my first choice.)

It's been a while since I carried a fixed blade daily (folders just work better for me personally, i eventually found) but a blade of 2.75-3 inches and an overall of 5-7 inches worked well for me.

Even when it comes to folders, a blade of around 3 inches is about right.

I always have at least one of these fixed blades on me when out of the house and in town or on the road. My favorite blade length for edc in town is 3-5”. I prefer horizontal carry front/left that allows using either hand and is accessible from any position while being comfortable seated. Mummert and ulticlips are great for pocket carry. I also like a few as neck knives. I will carry larger ones when off the road system in case of needing to do any chopping/clearing/chores. 371D4394-333A-42F9-B3F0-DB90AF66974A.jpeg

Being primarily fixed blade fixated my whole life and running the gambit from 9 inch bladed Bowies and down for me I have come to this conclusion

A 3 inch’ish fixed blade my preference is wharnies or Japanese style blades with the advantage to the wharnies

You have made yourself the Batman utility belt!! Nice job. I do wonder where you put the boomerang? ;)
