Fixed blade storage ideas

I have a knife roll for my folders I can view all the knifes. Don't like digging in a box.

I stand my fixed blades up in the box so I dont have to dig for them. as i get more I get a new bigger box. simple system for me. easy access.

folders I keep in a bunch of spyderco fold up spyderpacs or whatever they call them. work well enough.

My fixies, aside from my new in box ones, are in a toy shopping cart. The nib ones are in a star wars printer paper box I got from my neighbors. :D

On bookshelves, on closet shelves, hanging from hooks on closet doors, leaned up in an armoire (swords and sword bayonets), in boxes, in Sterlite/Rubbermaid tubs, in Pelican cases, on walls, in display cabinets, under mattresses, in their sheaths hanging from belts, in tool boxes, in drawers, on mag strips in a knife shed and workshop, on tables and work benches, behind the seat of a truck, under the seats in car, in the trunk of a car, and probably a few other places that I forgot that I have them.

I have them in the house, the workshop, the knife shed, the equipment shed, the barn, the garage apartment, and in the pickup and car. I also have a gear bag with machete, hatchet and a couple of knives (among other "stuff") in my mother's Jeep just in case and a spare set of cutting tools in a lock box in the deer blind (2 skinning/gutting knives, a machete and an axe) just in the event I managed to forget to bring them on a hunt.

I have two of these BLUE PRINT FILES I found in the trash. Stacked on top of each other bolted together and anchored to the wall.

They are for the old style real blue prints.

If i didn’t have them I’d used a Craftsman or similar tool chest with drawers.

used to be in a box and scattered throughout the house. My folders in a pelican case.
But this severely handicapped me enjoying them. Since a couple of months I have almost all my knives hanging on the wall of my walk-in closet and one at hand in about every room.
Great for rotation and enjoyment by being able to quickly grab them ;)

I Almost did this when the company I work for tossed a few of these. They were Big. Not sure where I was going to put them, and I was worried I'd FILL them? Haha

I currently have them in Kitchen, bedroom, coffee tables, end tables, workbenches, backpacks, camping boxes, cars, garage, just about everywhere.... But mostly in buckets..... That way I can grab a bunch and go.

Depending on the shapes and sizes, but if you have the space, tool chest or map cabinets are both great for knives storage and display.

I store mine by the guns.

(which translates to any horizontal surface is fair game)

P.S. We have no kids in the house & everybody hates us so no one ever visits..well,,,,that's not really true....people do like my wife.....still, no one ever visits.

It almost sounds like you have a problem with all this stuff being in your way. I would gladly stop by and help alleviate you of your problem with all these sharp instruments possibly being in the way and accidentally getting cut during a fall or stumble. I'm just trying to help out a fellow BF member, Yeah I'm always willing to help out. :D:thumbsup:

I have several on display in a wall unit. The ones not on display are kept in Bill's Custom Cases, sheaths are stored separate in zip lock bags with a note of what they belong to. Bill still builds the best case, some of mine, including Stag Loveless , have been in a case for over 20 years, no deterioration.

I have basically the same thing as eveled, but (IMO) a little fancier. I got this for free, and spent a couple months spare time refinishing it. It was covered in paint and a little broken, but works great now. And I can keep it in the house.

I had a larger one that I bought 15 years ago, but it was too big. It also weighed about 200 lbs so it was a pain to move, so it got replaced. It held a lot of knives though.

I also have a safe, several large footlockers, and shelves full of knives. One thing I find exceptionally good is custom padded cases with loops on the outside to hold the sheath. Not cheap, but invaluable for storing blades outside of the leather which prevents verdigris and other damage.

I use a rubber made bin... and my rule with my wife is all my fixed blades have to fit lol... so if I buy one that can't fit I have to sell to make space lol.
