I like the fit and feel in my hand of my Buck 6.3 oz 4.1" Vanguards, the #192 (~$60) and the black Al-Ti-N coated S30V Cabela's 'Alaskan Guide' ($90). I have both and both have a brass pommel & finger guard, as well as a laminated wood handle. Not a true 'fighter' by any means, but a great utility camping/hiking knfe. The Buck Alpha Hunter #194 has a 154CM blade as well - and has nice resin-impregnated rosewood scales over the one piece blade/tang, which, although it 'looks' smaller, makes it weigh 7.2 oz. Gerber has an offshore made 'Freeman' that some local sports stores, like 'Academy', have at less than $40. The S30V bladed Freeman that Cabela's has is only $90 - and is quite beautiful, with it's cocobolo scales and black blade. Made in the USA, like all of the Bucks I mentioned, it's grip may not suit everyone.
