I haven't made one in a while, just wanting to get some outside opinions. Thanks in advance.

.125 O1 OAL 9" full flat chisel grind w/ 20 ° bevel on other side.

I think we need more information. I cant tell what you are going for from the pic...

To me, the dip in the spine and the finger choil, as well as the excellently curvy tang (if you can't tell I like the handle area very much, looks nice), make it look like the blade and handle are from two different knives. I would say you are too far along for any of us to really design critique you, as the outline and bevels are pretty much done I take it... So from there, I guess have at it. Maybe the scales will help me understand what you are going for.

I usually reserve chisel grinds for kitchen knives, but to each his own. And if it has a bevel on the other side, and it looks like there is one on this side, it isn't really a chisel grind. A chisel is flat on one side, bevel on the other. You would have a flat grind at that point. And if the two flat grinds are at different angles, for me it would mean a dedicated wood carving grind which are usually short short blades with a lot of handle.

Tune us in to your wave brother... :)

Thanks for the kind words, I put a lot of thought into the handle to make it ergonomic. As for the grind I was kind of inspired by Mike and his black bears knives A.C.E. grind. Here's a couple more pictures I hope they help.

The bevel on the non-FFG side is at 20°. I not finished grinding it I had to stop last night.

Now I'm ridin your wave I think. Back on the grip for grunt work, slide up to the finger choil and ride the spine for finesse work?
Looks cool. Outside the box too, but in a good way. I like it. Looking forward to the finished product!

Exactly! I'm thinking about doing the handle in a high density rubber with some chain ring bolts for fasteners (or maybe something else). Its my 3rd knife so I'm still trying to get the hang of things.

This is certainly different, however I quite like it. Great work mate, I cannot wait to see the finished product. What are you planning on using for handle material? If my $0.02 were considered then I must say a dark Grey G-10 with coated hardware would look quite nice. Awesome work man, keep it up.

Is it only ground on one side? Frank
Its full flat on the left side and a 20°ish scandi on the right.

Thanks for the kind words. I was thinking a dark blue g10 or some kind of rubber.
