Hey bladeforumers. I'm looking for a fixed blade with a 6~8 inch blade with a big curve near the tip (think ghurka kukri but without the bend). It would be nice if it had some thickness in the blade as well as a kydex sheath (not a biggie though since I could always make one for it).

I'm liking the looks of the new Leatherneck-SF from Cold Steel but if there's something else out there with a bit more belly I'd take that over it.

Thanks in advance!

7.5" blade 1/4" thick but it has a leather sheath. http://sogknives.com/store/CD-01.html

Thanks for the suggestion :)
I looked at that and it certainly fits my needs but it's a little pricey (don't really understand why it is; AUS-8 steel, made in Taiwan). Cheapest I've seen is about $175 shipped. I might spring for it though if I can't find something better.
Thanks again!

Scrapyard knives. Oh yeah. good stuff.
have fun
look for sog on the forums. they are not reputed to have amazing quality knives. you can do much better for 175 bucks.

All great suggestions. Thanks guys :)
I'll make a list of knives to check out next time I make the trek to a knife store.

lol @ fat bastard :p

The Ontario SP line certainly is very attractive at the $80 price range. I'm liking the SP48 (longer than the SP46 but still with great belly). Looks to be nice and tip heavy too. I'll have to handle one first to see if I like it though.

What can you guys tell me about the 5160 steel they use?

What about a Smith&Wesson CKSUR7? It's pretty affordable.

At about 50 bucks shipped it's attractive but I'm wary about S&W knives. I'll look into some reviews. Thanks for the suggestion :)

Kind of off topic but The espadas have a lot of belly I was thinking of getting one, would be cool if they made a fixed espada.
