Fixed blade

Whats your price range? There are so many good custom makers out there.
Here is my custom Mcnees MCKII

Thanks for the suggestion and it looks like a great knife. But I tend to stay away from custom knife makers.

Do a fallkniven S1! The F1 is a little short in my opinion and has a very small finger guard. In a 5 inch length only the Busses seem to rival it. But getting and affording a Busse is another story. Or a Busse Boss Street...they are currently available but they are in the $230 mark with no sheath! Lotta dough! I like Busse but I just cant afford that kind of knife nor would I use it to the extent that I would break it. Nor would I used the S1 to the point it would break. I do like my Bravo 1 but I dont think I would get another Bark River. I feel like I am handling a large steak knife. Just my opinion and I have used it quite a bit but it has such a nice finish to it where I feel it looks better on a table then in the woods. But it performs so well! I still plan on roughing up the grip...the micarta is just too smooth for me.

Ive been on a busse family blade kick lately so Ill show you what I like

#5 (Busse Boss St) & #6 (Swamp Rat hrlm) from top

The rat will rust easily around salt water if the coating is removed. Gets super sharp and stays that way for ever. They both have the best warranties in the business.

Another pic of hrlm

Good luck to your hunt

I just wet myself! Amazing collection! If I had the means...I would be all in! They all looks so well kept. Where my early collection is pretty abused! At least my A1 is...I beat that to death!!!

Anything by Fehrman is going to be a very quality blade. He only makes a few models, but his blades are very very tough, and they feel great in hand (although, this is generally a perception that is different for each user). He is also a tool and die manufacturer, so he really knows his materials.

I have the Last Chance, but that's a little bigger than what you were looking for. The image is the Peacemaker, which has a 4" blade.
