Fixed blades in public

I EDC my BRKT Gunny and have yet to get any comments. I live in montana were if its under 4" your all good if its concealed, and it dosent matter what size if its not concealed. as for what the sheeple think... well I really dont care what they think.

I showed him the B-1 which has a 4.25 inch blade. I don't think its that "big". Next time, maybe I'll carry my RC-5 or get a B-2, Junglas, broadsword, etc.
Had someone tell me that my Benchmade Nimravus was a "Rambo knife." Too bad it looks nothing like a Hibben design and it's only as long as my 3.5-4" folders when locked open.

Heck I just slap it on my belt and go.I was reading this post and remembered this knife had been on me all day.If the sight of a knife or pistol on my belt bothers someone that's to bad.I see behavior from the politically correct crowd in town that would gag a maggot but that's their right and I could care less.

Hahaha

On another note..Would carrying a fixed blade with the sheath in your pocket and just the handle protruding be considered open or concealed carry?

I used to carry a Buck 119 or a CS Master Tanto on my belt back in the day(80s).Only got a few negative comments about carrying such a big knife. The biggest I'll pack openly now is a Buck 110,but it's usually a Vic Huntsman in a belt sheath. If I'm packing a fixed in public it'll be an Izula,or one of my other neckers,in my right front jeans pocket.

I would research the law , carry a small fixed blade and if there are any problems just tell them its used for hunting in season or for work/utility . a man has to have his tools right ,he has to be able to make a living right.

I carry a small fixed blade most of the time. The exception being work. Lately it's been a small Aikuchi made by Bud Nealy. I wear it at about 5 o'clock clipped on my belt. I don't even know it is there and since I wear a jacket or have my shirt tail out neither does anyone else. If I'm in the woods I'll also have a small hunter or utility fb on my belt. It's not a problem where I live. Upstate NY is a universe away from NYC.

The Idea of carring a well made fixed blade, instead of a folder interests me.I would enjoy how it is done, and be some what concealed if thats possible, and with-in the guide lines of the Laws.I have never seen anyone carry unless it was hunting season,I look forward to your answers, thank you.B.B

You need to contact your local Police Department and follow their advice.

I have lived in Alabama most of my life. I don't know what the laws are here but from the number of people I see carrying just about any knife fixed or pocket, they don't seem to care. I carry several fixed blades on my belt (not all at once) and have never had anyone say anything to me. Since we have several different types of open hunting seasons, hogs, nutria, and coyotes to name a few, you always see people sporting a sheathed knife on their belts. I don't think it's a big deal. Just something people do here.

you could move to texas where it is legal to carry up to a 5.5 inch fixed blade, it just can't be double edged if I remember correctly.

You're correct, anything over 5.5" is illegal as well as daggers of any size (double edges are almost always considered daggers).
