Hallelujah!! Specs? Very nice.

Hallelujah!! Specs? Very nice.

All the details should be on the website tonight sir. Blade is AEB-L at 62-63 RC, brass bolster and elk handle. Copper Loveless bolts on the handle to match the lanyard tubing and the mosaic pins on the bolster. The leather sheath is hand tooled from premium USA tanned Wickett and Craig saddle skirting 8/10 oz in weight. The OAL is 9 3/4" and the blade is 4 1/4". Thank you!

Been liking that style of carry. Interestingly it is making me realize the need to design a new knife specifically for that carry method.

I'm assuming you are talking about SOB carry? If so, this is our friend Lisa. She's a big proponent of that style. If not and you are talking bout my old friend Charlie's upside down deal, well I'll show myself out.

My friend Troy is also a proponent. Here helping at this branding in the white shirt.

Now interestingly he was the impetus behind this Sonoran Camp Knife design many years ago. He'd sent me a knife that someone had given him. He liked the size and the general blade shape but it was a cheapie ($35) and the handle was terrible. So he said what can we do here? I said how bout add a lil here and take away this there and we'lll use better steel and ht and he said go for it. And there ya are.

Here it is from a long time ago. Cocobolo on the handle.

And the second one ever, also from a very long time ago:

This was also the first one with a bolster as Troy's original one did not have one:

I wonder what your take is on dangler sheaths? Too much in the way?
Yeah they wouldn't work too well for what we do. Horseback is kinda always a design characteristic for me cause that's who we are. We recently retired from cattle ranching but are still active with horses Ours was a horseback ranch in that most of the work was done that way. Many if not most of my customers are involved with ranching, cowboying etc. A dangler type sheath could be very dangerous horseback. I try to keep in mind the unintended dismounts that do occasionally happen. So how do I keep you safe if your horse is a lil broncy on a cold morning? That's kinda always on my mind. If you ride the horse, I don't want to see your knife go flying across the way and if you come off the horse, I don't want ya getting poked by your knife

Now ya don't have to be a horseman for my designs to make sense. They'll work for you if you hike, hunt, work in the backyard, driving a truck, whatever it is you are doing.

I have a @horsewsmall of the back sheath for my Tops Scandi. Top quality materials and work as always. Very comfortable and hides perfectly under a loose fitting hoodie.
