You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. Look, the equation is simple: your wife doesn't like your knives = she doesn't use your knives. Now, look what you've done.I will certainly be doing a formal review soon. It has been too long since I have actually written up a full review. My life has been so busy for the last eight years or so since my second child was born, and it has only gotten moreso. I thought things would calm down after grad school, but work keeps me busier, and these days I am running full tilt all the time. But a good knife is worth taking a little time to write up.
The knife is excellent. The size and ergonomics are very nice and handy. And most amazing of all, my wife actually likes the knife. When I saw Crag make this pattern a while back, I thought the handle shape and size might work for my wife's tastes, and it actually worked! She's never liked my knives, but she appreciated this one.
You win the internet today! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. Look, the equation is simple: your wife doesn't like your knives = she doesn't use your knives. Now, look what you've done.
Jeez, I'd have thought that a father who has gotten an 8-year-old through grad school would know better.

Sigh. My alltime favorite handle material. Please post when it has finish on it. Thanks. Also, I’m excited to be making my first Osage orange handled knife. This is a MagnaCut drop point.

My alltime favorite handle material.
I know that the modern materials are more practical, and there are SO many woods that I really like, but the osage stands out for the fact that it was a favorite for making bows, and there are 90-year old osage fenceposts in the Midwest that show no signs of decay. Kind of magic.I’ve heard this quite a few times and am ashamed to only get around to using it after doing this for a living for half a decade now.
What makes you choose this over modern materials or micarta or other woods?
That's a great looking model! Also, I’m excited to be making my first Osage orange handled knife. This is a MagnaCut drop point.
