Another Carbon steel drop point in the 5 inch range. B. Goode.. this knife cuts like a scalpel![]()
5" is the proverbial do it all, " jack of all trades master of none". Why many "survival knives" are circa 5", and why many people make do with a 5" petty knife in the kitchen.Man, I must be in the minority. I had a bunch of 5” blades and sold em all off. All I have left are 3”-4” and 6”+. 5” seems to be right in a midrange grey area for me.
If I need something small for the day I pack a small blade. If I go bigger than that, might as well go BIG.

Basically, if I’m gonna bother with 5”, might as well go 6”+.

I'm with you on the size of knives. I find 5" knives either too big or not big enough. Your not alone in this. Maybe it's just the two of us that think this way. Great knives by the way. Thanks for sharing.Man, I must be in the minority. I had a bunch of 5” blades and sold em all off. All I have left are 3”-4” and 6”+. 5” seems to be right in a midrange grey area for me.
